While the article provides an excellent introduction, isn’t it a little bit late? Blogs came about (at least the way we know them now) around 2001 and really became popular around 2004. The first wiki was up and running in 1995 and by the early 2000s were being increasingly adopted in the enterprise as collaborative software.

It would seem to me that an article of this type should have been written between 3 and 5 years ago, when the popularity of blogs and wikis were first beginning to blossom. By now, the concepts are pretty well entrenched in the online world, both the public and private sectors. Personal and corporate blogs spring up all of the time thanks to sites like Blogger, and the success of Wikipedia has helped wikis appear in more and more places as well.
